[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have been in Aladağ (Antitaurus) Mts for several days. I have just came back with such nice birds. First of this series is Rhodopechys sanguinea - Alamecek [TR], Crimson-winged Finch [EN] which a member of the family Fringillidae.

Identification: Both the Trumpeter Finch and Desert Finch may show pink in the wings but the dark cap of a Crimson-winged Finch always prevents confusion. In flight, the big chunky build and white tail markings soon eliminate Trumpeter Finch and the darker mottled plumage distinguishes them from Desert Finches.

Habitat: Resident on dry rocky slopes often, though not always, at high altitude.

Distribution: Restricted in this region to upland areas in Turkey. They breed in the Korkuteli Hills and on the 'crater-hills' near the Eregli Marshes but the best area for them is probably at Demirkazik (though even here they can be elusive).

Population: 10 000 breeding pairs from Turkey, eastwards into Anatolia (from BirdGuides).

Ahmet, I have the feeling this one could be a little bit sharper, but it's just an opinion.

Great composition and pov. I enjoy pose too.

Ahmet Excellent shot and the pose of the bird is interesting. Body language shows it is actually posing for a shot. Ganesh

Hi Ahmet,
Good deatil on this bird... It looks quite pale, no vivid colors, maybe a juvenile?
