LITTLE MISS MUFFET SAT ON HER TUFFET...
The in camera macro is o.k. but if you can find a contraption like I'm doing, the "pits" you see in the image by in post pro zooming will be obsolete.
Ranox make macro lenses for the Fuji, I believe they are available in the U.K.
This is an excelent composition and well exposed, as I said, a pity for the grain/pits from post pro zoom.
Hi Julia, yep you've got the ID spot on. It's a good shot and it's a good pose. These spiders get into all kinds of funny poses with their legs. They are quite small at the moment but come July August they get pretty big - trouble is they get very drab looking. The new hatchlings in Autumn and early spring look the best. Most of that noise could be removed by using a noise filter such as Neat Image (the basic version is free) or there is a noise filter in PS Elements 3.0. Good work. Birthday wishes to your mum :-)I bet she's over the moon with this present :-0.
Great shot of this many-legs spider ;-))))
It is a really ...great shot of a "mini-beast", Julia. One I hope I won't remember when I am trying to fall asleep later.
Good composition and it was kind of the fellow to hang around until you had your fill. Well done, and TFS.
Very good macro Julia.
Good composition and well exposure. Some noise in the BG but it's not disturbing.
Hi Julia! Overall a nice shot..I like the diagonal compostion and you've succeeded on getting most of the spiders legs in. Catchy title. I like it. TFS
This is great for a first macro shot!
Remember that for macro work one needs the smallest aperture setting to get the most DOF. F3.2 is a large aperture setting and brought about by your camera choosing to shoot at ISO 64. I am not sure of your cameras limitations but normally ISO 64 and macro work don't mix nicely. :) If you chose ISO 200 you would have had more than two extra stops. The other factor is movement. The slow shutter speed also brought on by ISO 64 picks up movement very easily. If not on a tripod and using a remote or timed shutter the movement will be to much to get a really sharp photo. I hope it helps to get you to post you second macro shot soon. :)
Superb macro Julia.DOF,details and BG are wonderful.
I liked also the composition very much.TFS...:)
Hello Julia! What a nice shot! This is a scary looking creep. :) Good details, nice POV & DOF! Well done & TFS!
Well captured Julia,
He's having an early morning stretch!
Good composition, and the exposure is spot on.
Thanks for posting.
Hope your Mum had a good B'day
This is a very good close-up Julia. The DOF is very good and the image is well exposed. I love your note.
Very well done and thanks for posting
Belle et intéressante macro pour cette superbe araignée toute en longueur. Jolies couleurs et bonne netteté.
Well Done !!
Five words: excellent!
Nice capture Julia, the lavander leaf gives a good scence of scale . others before me have made the relevent comments on the quality, the only thing I will add is that i find in macro that I use no zoom and move the camera closer if possble to get the image, a case of slow and steady works best.
very good notes.
A very scary looking spider - perhaps he just looks bigger than he is? Excellent detail and a nice diagonal composition.
