[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The family Turdidae is represented by 29-30 in Turkiye. Three of these species are included into the genus Luscinia Forster, 1817, now considered to be the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. Turkish species of this genus are
** Luscinia luscinia (Linnaeus, 1758) – Benekli Bübül [TR], Thrush Nightingale [EN],
** Luscinia megarhynchos (Brehm, 1831) – Bülbül [TR], Nightingale [EN],
** Luscinia svecica (Linnaeus, 1758) – Mavigerdan, Gökgerdan, Buğdaycıl [TR], Bluethroat [EN].

L. svecica is very beautiful passerine bird with blue throat edged below by rust coloured borders. Its lenght is around 12-14 cm and it is similar to a robin [Erithacus rubecula (Linnaeus, 1758)]. This migratory species is insectivorous.
I met this bird when it was wet after bathe in water under willow (Salix sp.) bushy near swamp. This record is the first for Akkaya KeyBiodiversity Area. So, the number of Akkaya’s birds raised 122 species.

PS: I will be in Cyprus, Greece and Spain for scientific project and IUCN redlist workshop from October 16th to November 4th. If I have a chance, I will visit yours on TN. Best wishes all of you.

Hello Ahmet,
This is a species that I long to photograph but it is hard to find individuals that stop over in Scania on their way south, so I shall ahve to go to the Swedish mountains in the summer to find one.
This shot, though a little soft, has good lighting colours and Bg and is set in a satisfactory composition.
Hope your research trip goes well,
Best wishes, Ivan

Excellent details and soft sharpness, impressive overall colouration, well composed too.
