[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This very friendly Ruffed Grouse made his or her first appearance flying after my brother's car on a country road. It tried to land on the front bumper and even appeared as though it wanted to jump right in the car!
My brother took me to the spot in the hopes it would still be there - and we weren't disappointed.
This friendly and curious beauty came right up to us, and seemed to truly enjoy the company. It picked at some leaves and made soft ''grouse'' sounds every once in a while.
It posed for me by ruffling up its feathers, just as we were getting up to leave.
Sadly, it's no longer to be found these days. Hopefully it has just moved on to another area and hasn't been killed by a hunter or predator.
