[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A beautiful Nymphalidae Melitaeinae Melitaeini.
It was common in my region but its habitat is decreasing vary fast because of the human activity like deforestation, abusive use of herbicides and pesticides.
The food plants of their caterpillars are Plantago, Veronica, Digitalis, Valeriana, Verbascum, Antirrhinum, Linaria and Stachys.
The wingspan is 35-50 mm.
In Portugal we can see it flying from April to September.
Is konwon as Spotted fritillary in english, in portuguese doesn’t have a common name yet.

Hello Paolo,
I see that you are back at TN also with own pictures after a long time, 2 years or so!
Here, you present a fine picture of didyma showing well all its beauty and its characters.
The background is appropriately blurred. I hope to see more ...
Best wishes, Peter

hola Paulo, excelente macro, con muy buena exposición, buena definición y tonos de color naturales. Un saludo

hello Paulo,
Very pleased to see a picture from you, until now I just noticed that you looked at butterfly pictures. Excellent sharpness on the butterfly's wings and pleasant blurred background. A very classical and fine picture.
Un grand merci
Anne

Hi Paulo.
What a nice scene. I like it a lot. The butterfly hanging on a ear is looked excellently. Amazing lights and colours. Impressive smooth BG and crisp sharp image of the butterfly. Symmetrical composition of the shot is so cute too. Well done and best wishes.
Alexei.

Hi Paulo

Great shot of the Fritillary, its a very nice pose with the Butterly resting on the end of the grass and I really like the central pose.
Superb DOF, exclellent details and with lovely colours too.

Hi Paulo
Not only interesting species but also a very good photo. Good sharpness, perfect OOF background, nice contrast. As for the composition I am wondering about a little crop - little bit from the left and little bit from the bottom.
Thank you for this beautiful image
Best wishes
Krzysztof

wonderful shot, great detail and sharp, color is great too

Hello Paulo,
beautiful, clear and precise presentation of this colourful fritillary that has become rather rare in my place, too. Was happy to see it this summer at one undisturbed location near Vienna.
Thank you! With best regrads,
Peter
