[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello TrekNaturers,

Those who ever saw my gallery know how much I love fungi, because the majority of my shots were done about them. Momentarily I have almost 100 new images (photographed this year), waiting for their time to be uploaded to TN. Most of them are about fungi, it's true, but from time to time I try to post something different, because I shouldn't like to be 'booked' as a one-sided photographer, who's interested in his main craziness but nothing else. So, here it is: a photo of the well known butterfly, Papilio machaon.

It's needless to write about the specie, You can read infos in many notes, because a lot of our member mates shot this specie on very high quality. Just look at the Papilio machaon collection.

This photo was done on the rock plateau of Tar-kő ("Bald Rock"), exactly on 950 meters above sea level, and I was heavily supported by the strong wind, which didn't let the papilio fly away before my shots were taken. :) The view from Bald Rock is simply awesome, but to South, so making a proper panoramic image is almost impossible, due to the return light of the Sun. But click here for acceptable single images if interested.

Those interested in the geographical quota of Hungary, especially of the Bükk mountains (mostly local viewers, I think), may surprisingly see I stated Bánkút as the place of the photo, which belongs to Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county / state, too. This is a mountain ranch with a couple of hostels and a local ski centre, which is just crossed by the state border. Like the infamous CalNeva Lodge on the border of California and Nevada, where the pools were on the Californian and the casino on the Nevadan side, because, unlike in California, hazard games aren't forbidden in Nevada. The difference is the Hungarian laws are the same in each state / county. Anyway, the distance between Bald Rock and the ranch of Bánkút is ca. 7 kilometers, but no closer inhabited place.

Back to the photo: strong wind, no sunshine at all. Needed a lot of post-procession like optimal levels, contrast, brightness, color balance etc. I like the image and I hope You do so. Although I also have to accept if You say this is nothing but the (n+1)th Papilio machaon photo on the site.

Ciao Laszlo,
TFS.

Hi Laszlo
One of the most interesting shots of this species that I have ever seen on TN. I like the surrounding with OOF rocks and grass. Nice OOF not disturbing background and two strong color accents - yellow butterfly and purple flower. I also like the relatively wide frame
TFS
Best wishes
Krzysztof

Szia Laci!
Ritkán járok erre, bocs, hogy nem válaszoltam. Az angolt nem nekem találták ki:)) Változatlanul rosszul írok, és beszélek. Inkább csak a barátok miatt jövök fel. Otthon szinte minden fotós forumon fenn vagyok. Itt jobban érzem magam, csak jó lenne magyarul írni.
Csodálatos kép. Remek színek, szép, jól elkapott pillanat.Galériád nézve, van mit tanulnom:))
Üdv, Zsú

Hi Lazlo

Great shot of this common swallowtail, a beautiful species nonetheless.
Well composed with the purple flowers and OOF rocky background. Good sharpness.

This year was hopeless for fungi here. Maybe better next year.

cheers
Chris

Hi Laszlo, An excellent sharp and well coloured composition. The DOF effect making the backdrop as it is helps this butterfly stand out from the crowd. TFS. Murray.
PS Tks for the WS on white cockie parrot.

Hi Laszlo,
Very nice shot of your papilio, I like the artistic composition here..
Excellent color, exposure, and details, well seen from the BG too.
Beautiful work,
Howard

Szép kép jó minőséggel, a fő témák sárgás és lilás színei remekül egészítik ki egymást!

How beautiful and splendidly captured!! I like a lot the composition with the butterfly between the Centaureas, the beautiful framing and even your signature in beautiful letters. The perfect focus on the butterfly against the blurred bg makes it a perfect shot.
Congratulations and thank you very much for this beauty.
My best regards

Hello Lázló,
I love this one!
The slightly OOF natural BG, the POV, the composition on the Knapweed flowers, the dorsal POV and sharpness of the Swallowtail all contribute to a beautiful portrait of this species.
You may not take many butterfly photos, but those that you do are excellent!
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan
