[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken on a freezing cold beach in gale force winds so I'm very suprised any of the shots came out at all. At least I had this wonderful beach to myself (well apart from some wading birds calling out from the dark rock pools). The interesting rocks are caused by the erosion of the shoreline. Behind me were red and yellow striped cliffs and the sand had a red iron staining tinge. The Norfolk coatline looked beautiful and I would love to go back (in better weather)

Hi Karan. Bad weather or not this is a very good picture. I like the weed covered mounds going out to sea. With sun just try to stay out and the dark clouds closing in on you. Very good colours and detail. well done TFS.
Nick..

Hi Karan,
Excellent capture of this peaceful beach view. Sorry to say but you had the beach for yourself only because of the bad weather, try July and you get 1000 people with 2000 dogs and no waders. Very good composition and DOF, beautiful colours and great contrast.

Hi Karan!

Of course, the picture is technically perfect, but it's the atmosphere and the effect it generates that make it an outstanding one. It's simply beautiful, and the low point of view added to the marvellous shapes and colours add to the value of the picture.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Karan

Hi Karan and nice to see you again here

This is a terrific setting and a splendid to take photos from what i can see here. I guess you were lucky to have it all for yourself, even with the cold.
The composition you chose here is outstanding and the moment of day is also excellent. The shape and texture of the rocks in the FG are great but i think they could look better (especially those a bit farther). I would have used a ND Grad filter here (like you), but i would have craved for a reversed one. Singh-Ray make them (probably they're not the only ones) but it would have been perfect for this setting - it would have darkened the horizon and would have let more light through for the farther rocks.
Anyway, just a thought and perhaps advice :)

Bravo and TFS

Hola Karan,
interesante marea baja,
hermoso pov. bella perspectiva,
buen encuadre,
saludos

This is a lovely centered composition, Karen. The sharpness of the immediate foreground really is attractive. The great depth rendered by that wide angle is effective. I tried a workshop to see if there was some detail left in the midground rocks so as to tie the foreground to the midground.

Hi Karan,

Nice to see you back again. What a shot to shout out your return. The amazing sun and sky and very unusual seascape are just beautiful. I have never seen anything like the grass-covered mounds leading out to the sea. Fantastic dof - the horizon looks so far away. The dark clouds and the bright sun are magnificent. Colors, clarity and composition are all superb.

Jane

Hi Karan,
Great to see a photo from you again. I like how the sun has enough power to break up some of the dark and threatening clouds. The rocks do look wonderful especially how they are draped with the seaweed. The composition is great with good FG interest. It does look like you positioned the edge of the ND part of the filter too low. Were you trying to have enough darkness of the sunny part?
TFS,
Niek
