In The Virgin Forest pt. V. - Another Rarity

After a few-week brake I'm here again to continue my "In The Virgin Forest" series, with the part I promised before. The fungus specie You see here is Hydropus subalpinus, which is growing in the montaneous area of Europe, but not common at all - for example redlisted in Norway and Denmark, and also rare here in Hungary. Growing on small dead branches, mostly in late spring, not edible. Thanks to Mr. Lajos Benedek mycologist for correct ID specification.

Not my best ever pic composition-wise, because one of the caps are hidden, and due to the curves of the fungi I should have composed them into the left third, but I can't avoid sharing this specie with You (for the 1st time on TN), because I never met it before (or later). In spite of the compositional mistakes I hope You like the image somehow.

Thanks for looking and reading, all the best, László

Hello Laszlo,
On such small fungi surely few people pay attention. You can take shot that look very nice. I can choose good POV and light.
Regards, Pawel

Hello László!

Good to see another rare fungus from your collection! As I said many times before - I prefere not perfect photo of interesting subject or even very bad picture with interesting story than perfect, but boring one :-) So, please, don't mind composition here! I like this specie - it looks very fragile and... sinister :-) Sorry, but my first thought was about horror movies, fungi growing on cementaries and similiar stuff :-) Anyway - great post as always.

I started to build my own site of Lodz's Botanic Garden - could you helpo me with identyfiing some fungi? I founded many of them last times.

Hello Laszlo
beautiful capture with particular POV.Clear details, exposure for a perfect composition.

Ciao Baratomo Laszlo:)
Nice to see you after a ralatively interval. Hope all are going on well. You posted a classical Laszlo shot. Perfect in all around, with an impeccable clarity, focus, great low POV and delightful composition.

Laszlo!

Dear Friend,

Good to see one of your interesting work again.

You are always with their fungi, with excellent details and colors.

Congratulations for the proper balance to the brightness set to the point that the shading of fungi reflects fairly light, but not burn anything.

Excellent background, made with such f/2.8. Very good 3D effect for all and a beautiful composition.

Greetings, I am glad you are back in TN!

Jesus.
