How nice to see a photo form you! And a fantastic one. -30 C, I can see it in the Blackbird. The feathers are like a fur coat. The light on this breast of the bird is splendid. Very beautiful colours. Excellent sharpness, details and frontal POV. Beautiful matching OOF BG.

Warm welcome-back on this cold winter day! I'm glad You're posting again. Your today shot's simply fantastic with unbelievable sharpness, great light management and awesome blurred background which isolates the main subject quite well. It was worth visiting the park in such cold weather. Poor blackbird, I absolutely understand her, but You know, females are always feeling cold more. :)
Tfs, best regards, Wladyslaw

Hi Greg. How good to see you again. I hope yoy and the family are well. This is a fine close up of this very cold looking Blackbird. I like the way the light is just catching the top half of the feathers, All taken with good detail and natural looking colours. TFS.

This image is well captured and conveys the cold weather and mood effectively. I like this image very much because it is so genuine. The puffed feathers, the way it is sitting on the branch, and the catch light in the eye are only a few prominent qualities of this great image I want to lay emphasise on that attracted my eye in this touching photograph. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

After a wile, you are posting again. By sure, we humans will survive in these temperatures, in our shelters. And I really hope that this small and cute bird will survie as well. It seems that it has a thick layer of pheathers to protect it.
So, my question is, were is global warming??

-30°C, and this fellow still is sitting outside. Brrr, he's lucky to have a lot of thick feathers. Your picture reflects the winterly atmosphere without showing any snow or ice. The colours, the naked branches and probably also the birds position and expression remind us the cold season. I also like the unity of the colour tones very much.

Nice to see you're still with us and this capture is really wonderful! This poor female looks frozen stiff but I expect the feathers are keeping her warm enough. Details are very sharp and the light and colours lovely! A beautiful background too!
TFS and keep warm! Best wishes, Ulla

Global warming? I think you mean global colding! It is snowing at the moment, and the thermometers show -3 degrees Celcius. Our weather forecast says that it will be -5 Celcius degrees this night and +3 Celcius degrees tomorrow. Where has gone global "warming"?
Your bird... It seems so cold and so alone! It needs a partner to get warm.
About photo quality? Nevermind! You already done very well as everytime.

Nice to see you on TN again!
This is a fine shot that marks the cold. This Blackbird is certainly puffed up to fight the cold! Excellent frontal POV and use of flash to highlight the plumage with fine sharpness and colours.
The extra brown plumage suggests that this might be a juvenile.
The Ice Age has returned to Europe but there is global warming in the Arctic!
Thanks and have a good Sunday,

An excellent shot with such beautiful colors, sharpness & wintry setting. This bird is using every instinctive method it has to stay warm from the severe freezing temps. The feathers are way puffed out to increase the insulation layer & in the meantime, its pose on the tree branch with its feet/legs totally covered by its feathers to stay warm.
Well done & presented. TFS & regards.

Ha ha, minus 30, that's cold. Here in western Sydney is been over plus 40 for 3 days in a row - today is welcome relief at only 27. And your blackbird certainly looks like she doesn't believe in global warming either. Maybe she should of thought about migration....Good composition and sharpness.
