Hello all, the Saguaro cacti (Carnegiea gigantea) is an arborescent (tree-like) cactus species in the monotypic genus Carnegiea, which can grow to be over 20 meters (~70 ft) tall. It is native to the Sonoran Desert in the U.S. state of Arizona, the Mexican state of Sonora, and the Whipple Mountains and Imperial County areas of California.(Wikipedia) The saguaro can live from 80 to 100 years old and some have been known to live as long as 150 years. They have night blooming flowers. Also, harming a saguaro cacti is illegal in the state of Arizona. The saguaro is an important source of food and shelter for the Tohono O’odham native American Indians. Saguaro spines are sometimes used as sewing needles and the ribs are used to make harvesting tools.(Wikipedia)
I took this photo in the Catalina State Park area of Tucson. there are many wonderful hiking trails in that park.

Hi Karen, Details note comes with this image. Indeed they are very tall. Your POV has a nice effect to the cactus, and they seem taller than the sky and the space in the FG has strength the scale too. Nice details and clarity with great light control. Thank for sharing
Anna

Bonsoir Karen,
Agréable valorisation du sujet sous une belle lumière et dans une bonne composition.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard
