The Orange Sulphur and the Clouded Sulphur are extremely hard to tell apart at times, especially in a closed wing pose. After checking my guide books and viewing images on the web I'm pretty sure this is an Orange Sulphur.

The Sulphur butterflies are very active here in Ohio. I spot many of these erratic fliers zipping just a few feet above the clover fields all summer long.

The Sulphurs and the Cabbage Whites seem to never tire out and are always on the move. They will however stop from time to time just to visit the pretty Red Clover blossoms when they are in full bloom. This particular butterfly decided to check out a bright yellow Goldenrod plant.

Hi Ron,beautiful capture of this rare subspecie of the genus colias..A classic pose and fantastic sharpness and colors,i like it! Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ron,

I always prefer such BG as well as eye level shot. Very beautiful colored butterfly and well captured. Eye catching composition....
Best regards,

Ron, this is an extremely beautiful composition.
I presume the shape and color of those spots on the nether wings determine the species.
We have some yellow butterflies on the wing these days in my school garden, but they don't settle anywhere for more than a few seconds. Trying to grab one but failed thus far.

Wauwh Ron
