[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found this pretty Silvery Checkerspot butterfly perched low to the ground on a Red Clover blossom. The caterpillars of this particular butterfly survives by overwintering here in Ohio.

With a wingspan of only 1 3/8 to 1 3/4 inches makes this one of our tiniest butterflies. These tough little butterflies survive periods of cold and drought in a resting state known as diapause.

Ciao Ron, great macro of fantastic butterfly, wonderful colors, splendid sharpness and fine details, very well done my friend, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

A perfect macro of this tiny but exceptionally beautiful butterfly, Ron. This is professionalism at its best in my opinion.
Tack sharp focus with a wealth of details on the open wings.
The Clover blossom adds a great deal of appeal to your diagonal composition.
Regards.

Hi Ron,
Beautiful open-wing pose and nice composition, not to mention great sharpness and DoF. A little background noise is detectable here and there, but it doesn't really spoil the overall impression. Great macro with fantastic color contrast, and I like the tiny pink flower very much, too, it adds another special color tone to the image. Good work.
Have a nice festive season, kind regards, László
