First thing worth a photo for a while since I have been busy with other things. And of course I did not have my macro so this was the best I could do in a breeze. To my eye it seemed more blue than in the photo.
Seen on the edge of the Kanaka Crater.
No idea what it is, suggestions most welcome.

Hello, I appreciate your efforts though it is not well focused that I suggest more shutter speed and lesser f/ number, well framed.

Hi Geoffrey,a brave effort but the sharpness is poor, while the metallic colors are very good. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Geoffrey,
An interesting insect indeed with beautiful iridescent colors. I searched for about an hour trying to figure out what type of insect this was, (fly, bee..?) Possible a type of soldier fly?
No positive ID was found. Focus is pretty soft, but otherwise not a bad image.
Ron
