|From my backyard again:|
I present this Orange Tip male (Anthocharis cardamines L.; Aurorafalter; l'Aurore. Pieridae) sitting on - you guessed it - Cardamine pratensis. I had to collect the butterfly with a net in the afternoon, let it calm down in a jar overnight and set it on the flower again early in the morning. This gave me time to hold one flash above the animal (the other one was set on the lens) and shoot. If you want to see a higher resolution of the the picture than allowed by TN, click here.

Waaw Dietrich, what a great way to show us this beautiful male!! The composition is a masterwork,a common butterfly but always nervous and not easy to take, very well done! About the bullfrogs,in effect there are someone close to Ticino river but not a lot. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
une superbe photo, belle position du papillon et bonne qualité des détails et de la netteté.

Excellent work, Dietrich.
Aesthetic composition with great light and favorable dark background.
I like this butterfly 🦋 as well as your chosen composition. Nice idea to use those 4 flowers as a supporting object. Good details on butterfly as well as on flowers. Perfect OOF background which helps viewers to concentrate on objects only.
Thanks for sharing your work with us,
Regards and have a nice weekend 🙂,
