the tree is araucaria angustifolia or "Pinheiro-do-Paraná" meaning "pine of parana" because this tree was very much widespread in the state of parana , it is one of the oldest tree of the world , and the name of the city curitiba means in guarani ( the native language of the indians , no more ) ocean of trees , meaning that here where a lot of araucarias. the tree was diziminated so also the indians.
