Yes, seems that Summer reached its peak. Today we've got temperature about 35 Celsius degrees (95F) in shady areas and 60C degrees (140F) in the sunny places. Yeah! I call it it real summer fun. As you probably know, I hate winter, I love heat :-) So I took my U.S. Military Boonie Hat, two bottles of water, camera and went to Botanic Garden. I walked about 5 hours, from 10AM to 15PM and I really enjoyed it! There was no people at all. There was no birds. Most of insects also took fright. I went to my favourite desert area to see how tiger beetles act in such temperatures. These insects love heat, too and are most active when air and sand are really hot. I laughted loud when I saw them hiding in shadows. Cowards! I'm the King of the desert! One and only!!! Erm... Am I overheated?

On my todays photo you can enjoy bee fly Bombylius vulpinus. Looks great, everyone agree? Like cute, small teddy-bear. But as always in desert every little creature is another surprise with dark behaviour. This fly is parasite, its larva eat eggs and larvae of another insects. You must be really tough to survive in the desert...

Hello King of the desert!
Very funny capture and note! This Bombylius seems to be overheated too! :)
Not easy to take this inflight shot. Nice warm colours with movement of the wings. I wish you a fresh night. Cheers,
