Another Puffin shot from Skellig islands and this time Im in the picture if you look into the Puffins eye. So cute! And so clumsy the little Puffins are Wonderful. I captured this one at 400mm f7.1 ISO 200.

The Skellig islands are well known for their seabird colonies, and together comprise one of the most important seabird sites in Ireland, both for the population size and for the species diversity.

Among the breeding birds are European Storm-Petrels, Northern Gannets, Fulmars, Manx Shearwaters, Black-legged Kittiwakes, Common Guillemots, Razorbills and Atlantic Puffins (with 4000 or more puffins on Great Skellig alone). Smaller numbers of Choughs and Peregrine Falcons can also be seen.

Hi Stephen,
My neighbor today. A lovely portrait of this beautiful puffin bird. Excellent details and a fine composition. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Dear Stephen,
Very well captured close up of the puffin with brilliant colors; that too one can notice photographer's body reflection within bird's eye. Great shot. Cheers.

Hi Stephen,
What an awesome photo, especially with you so perfectly visable in the reflection of the eye. These birds are probably the cutest birds there are. Who cannot love them. Wonderful details and colors and a picture perfect DOF.

You must have been very close!
Extremely detailed and sharp.
Great exposure of whites and blacks.
Superb DOF.

How are you finding the 450D?

Very well done, Stephen!

Hello Stephen,
It is fun the way the bird looks as if the Puffin is a bit shy..
Well done

Oh Stephen, what an excellent portrait of this beauty. And yes, there you are right in the centre of his eye.
It is so good to see him so clearly - his feathers and colours are spot on - well done
