Not sure where the exact location is on this one somewhere between the Cork and Kerry mountains on a stormy day with heavy threatning clouds over head.

I was speeding along in the car to my next destination playing not Thin Lizzy but AC/DC Highway to Hell when I turn on a bend and seen this. Had to stop and capture the moment. Because of the light here I took three exposures to cover the tonal range.

Hi Stephen,

What a wonderfull picture depiciting the mood, it has an mesmerising effect overall. Worth stopping by, beautiful location. TFS.

Excellent dynamic shot. The colours, contrast, rays of light, all look amazing.

Hi Stephen,
An outstanding landscape of this beautiful valley. Superb composition and lovely colors. BTW is this a HDR image. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Wow, what a heavenly effect the slanting sunrays have created on the earth in this marvellous picture, Stephen!
From your point of view, the scale of the landscape appears to be very large and the valley lit by the rays looks like a flood-lit sports arena.
TFS and regards.

What a glorious image Steve..
No - "You da man" :)
I want this one on my wall!
PS - I came back to assign the smiley & found myself listening to those rank amateurs singing "Highway to Hell"..
But I have to say, I aint "going down"!!
And just like this most excellent image, you've contrasted things in expert fashion ;-}

just magnificent. And quite unique.

This is interesting Stephen. Did you use Photomatix to blend the three images? I really like the concept of the shot and the scene is fabulous. There is something about it that just doesn't feel natural to me. HDR images often feel that way to me so it is probably me, and it is just as you intended it to be.
