Lestes is a genus of damselfly in family Lestidae. The family hold their wings at about 45 degrees when resting instead of 90 degrees (parallel to each other) as is most common with damselflies.

Hello Leonid,
Excellent capture of this damselfly, sharp showing clear details and lovely colours. Beautiful background colour and a very nice composition.
Best regards Siggi

Hi Leonid!

I like your picture very much, mainly because of the contrast between the tender pastel colours of the background and the more brilliant ones on the body of the insect. I also like the superb details in the main subject very much.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Leonid,
A very fine portrait of the Damsel.I have noticed tis phenomena in some of the damsels I had seen but it is only today here with your notes that i realised this species have a specific pattern of holding the wings.Fine details, good clarity and colours..the composition well showing off the point you explained through your note.

This is my first visit to your gallery which is indeed impressive.

TFS and cheers
Silpa

Hallo Leonid
This is an incredible colourful photo with details clearly visible and well displayed. Great focus, great sharpness and a super macro.Image presented in a superb manner. This photo has so much character to it.The fine hairs on the thorax are captured with preciseness and accuracy and I want to compliment you on the fine photography. The isolation of your damselfly from the background is done splendidly. Thanks for sharing.
Best Regards
Anna

Hello Leonid !
THis is A-MA-ZING ! I love everything on this picture ! The sharp details (even the hairs on the legs are pin sharp), the metallic color of the Damsel, the lovely colors in the blurred BG, the splendid composition, the excellent BG. It's very pleasant for the eye, I could watch it again and again - goes to my favorites ! Very well done !
Valérie.
