The lake really is this spectacular colour. During the winter the road up to this lake is closed. It only opened a couple of weeks before I visited in June and snow reached down to the lake shore.

Moraine Lake is nestled in the Valley of the Ten Peaks 12 km from Lake Louise. The lake gets its color from the Refraction of light off the Rock_flour deposited in the lake on a continual basis.

The area around the lake has several walking/hiking trails, which are from time to time, restricted because of grizzly bear activity.

I had a lovely day at this lake and it is really breathtaking. I hop you like it.

Hello Karan,
Beaufiful crisp shot with strong contrast between the dark rock and snow. Good composition that shows the whole height of the montain and fresh colors.
Well done and TFS

Hello Karen, it's a striking view. Love the colour of the water. The composition is very good. The tree in the FG is a teeny bit distracting but what can you do? :-)

Nice work.

Bonjour Karan

Beautiful capture Karen, I love the freshness of the scene. I would better place those trees for a stronger composition. I would love to visit Canada some time soon, it looks awesome. Well done.

Hello Karan,
A well framed mountain landscape, in a well balanced composition with good lines!
Great colours and details and the lighting is interesting, and I like the way you use the trees in front for framing!

Hi Karan ! This is really a wonderful landscape ! Those snowy mountains, surrounding this lake with amazing blue color... like a pstcard ! Composition and POV are excellent, as well as the colors. very well done !

A vonderful view, the colours are really spectacular. The portrait orientation is appropriate as it accentuates the height of the peaks. I think the trees and the nearest land on the left is too dark, though.

Amazing photograph, looks almost unreal.

Hi Karan,
What a beautiful photo with such a great POV. The trees in the f/g give it a great depth and the landslide with the trees are a part of a great leadline leading me toward those great peaks. I do agree with Andy, and find his WS very good. Besides that a outstanding photo with goor control in the colors.

I've seen so many photos of this lake here and on trekearth, it makes me want to visit this place more and more. Your photo captured the green water so well, I like the trees framing the scene and the bright blue sky. Excellent breathtaking shot, well done.

What a beautiful area and thanks for sharing this super site with us. Well saturated and good contrast in colours and textures. Well done. Tim

I remember critiquing this image before but for some reason it didn't get posted. This is a beautiful shot. We are going there in September. Hopefully the grizzlies aren't as hungry then!

I like your photo. The color, depth of field and exposure is good. It is reasonable under the circustances to have some underexposed area as there is such a range of values in the scene. I like Andy's workshop too.

Evelynn : )

Beautiful...absolutely beautiful!! You captured the colours so vividly. Great photo!

Hi Karan,

I like this picture of Moraine Lake very much. I have visited it myself this year and it's beautiful. And your capture of it looks great. Colours are beautiful, good sharpness and a great composition. It brings back memories for me :-)
Thanks for sharing.

Greetings, Nel

Dear Karan,
Excellent shot of this beautiful landscape. I wish you had used polarising filter to cut down the glare as evident at few places within the frame. Over all a super composition. Cheers & TFS.
