[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Helvella crispa, also known as the white saddle, elfin saddle or common helvel, is an ascomycete fungus of the Helvellaceae family. The mushroom is readily identified by its irregularly shaped whitish cap, fluted stem, and fuzzy undersurfaces. It is found in eastern North America and in Europe, near deciduous trees in summer and autumn.

Hello Siegfried,

Attractive fungi if we concentrate on its shape. Well captured, although I think at least f/11 would give you more DOF. When I capture fungi (Here not much available), I use f/22....yes handheld. Siegfried, just top of the fungi, moon like spot light little bit distracting. You may easily clone it out before post.
Thanks for sharing,
Best wishes,
Srikumar

Hello Siggi,
Very unusual shape to this particular species of fungi. Maybe a tad soft on focus on the left side, but still a very presentable image. Shown from an attractive low POV and displaying natural coloration.
