I captured this Monarch at the Calusa Nature Preserve, one of my first Butterfly captures. I hope you enjoy!

From Wiki:
The Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a well-known North American butterfly. Since the 19th century, it is also found in New Zealand, and in Australia where it is also known as the Wanderer Butterfly. In Europe it is resident in the Canary Islands (except Lanzarote) and Madeira, and is found as a migrant in the Azores, Portugal and Spain. Its wings feature an easily recognizable orange and black pattern, with a wingspan of 8.5–12.5 cm (3.34 in–4.92in). The females have darker veins on their wings, and the males have a spot in the center of each hindwing from which pheromones are released.

Hi Ange,
I like the way sunlight casted on this colorful Monarch. The composition and pov are great. Dark background adds dimension. TFS this fine image.

Hello Angela

A super shot of one of my favourite subjects to shoot.Nicely done with very good focus and lovely colour saturation. The blue flower is a natural colour contrast to the orange of the butterfly.Very nice lighting and contrast. It makes me anticipate their arrival even more.TFS

Hi Ange,
A vert nice shot on this Monarch. You handled the backlit scene well. Good color saturation and sharp detail in this well composed scene. Well done!

Hi Angela,
I love Butterfly's and your capture of this one is superb. The quality of the image give us an opportunity to examine its detail easily. The flower is a glorious colour too. Excellent shot.

Hello Ange,
I have written some critics to you but for a reason they just disappeared... So, I'll start with this one. I like this lightning a lot, tones of colors, POV, composition and exposure. This is a nice portrait of this beautiful specie and congrats for you first butterfly capture, this is a nice one! Thanks,

bonjour angela
comme sur ma photo de mesange le BG noir penalise un peu a mon avis mais les couleurs et la netteté sur le papillon sont extra.
