[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot today in my garden, during the hottest time of day. The heat and the perfume of flowers lured the butterflies. Unfortunately I do not know the name of this one and I shall try to find out.In Victoria, where I live, I haven't noticed many butterflies- four or five(excluding the cabbage moth).

Hello Klaudio,
Welcome to TN. Your butterfly is commonly called the Australian Admiral. Its scientific name is Vanessa itea and it was so called by in 1775 by a gentleman named Fabricius.
Distribution is from Northern Queensland to Victoria and Tasmania; South Australia including the Flinders Ranges and Kangaroo Island, and souther Western Australia. Beyond Australia it has been taken on Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and, I'm afraid to say, New Zealand.
There is a note in Charles McCubbin's "Australian Butterflies" to the effect that "Admirals frequently settle head-downwards on fences or tree-trunks..." so I don't think there is anything wrong with the picture in the orientation you clearly took it!

Hi Klaudio,
Welcome to TN!
Pretty butterfly with beautiful coloration!
Excellent contrast and sharpness.
Very pleasant composition.
Congratulations for beautiful work!
Best wishes,
José Roberto
