Another photo taken after the storm on Lake Erie. I found it amazing that all this ice was plowed on to this poor tree and yet it was still standing after 36 hours of waves crashing and 50 knot winds blowing on it. Shows really well if life wants to go on, it will go on! I was going to do this in black and white but liked the soft tones of the color in the photo.

Hi Donna,

Strong composition and a frozen feel given by the combination of greys and cold colours. Tfs.

Cheers, Petru

very nice scene,
I like the moove of water and silhouette of tree add very well on this splendid composition,

This looks amazing Donna.
I first thought it was a most serene image from the thumbnail, but reading the notes...well...

Hello Donna,
A great shot showing how a small tree can resist the forces of nature: first storms, then ice masses from the lake. Superb composition depicting the feel of winter.
Thanks for sharing: just two months to go before spring!

Hello Donna,
And this harsh conditions the tree has experienced for years, every winter!
A pleasant composition indeed, the simplicity is it's strenght...
Sharp fine details in the naked branches, interesting winter light!

Hi Dona,
In spite of distance between us we have a very similar place here. I like it a lot. It is so native for my eyes. Modest colours and soft light are suitable for this landscape and season. Excellent composition (I know your great taste) and DOF. Thanks and best regards.

Hi Donna, this is a great postcard, very excellent way to show the winter in your country, great great work, thanks for share,Luciano

Hi Donna,

A nice image of the trees surrounded by ice or snow which survived the storm. The point of view is giving depth to the photo. It is clear and sharp. According to the news, the storm caused many flights cancellation at the different airports in the area. Have a nice day.

Hi Donna,
I will be back.

Hi Donna,
I like the DOF in this photo a lot. It isolated the trees pefectly from the BG without loosing too much of the shapes in the BG. The similarity of color in the ice and sky helps with the isolation as well.

P.S. there are a few dust spots visable on the left.

Hi Donna

The roots must run deep. I love your lake pictures showing us the different seasons and weathers. I'm glad you left the colour. The blue/greys make it seem event colder

Hello Donna,
Very nice composition with great depth of field and color as I like muted tones as well. The tree looks as if it held its own against the battering winds and ice, I just hope it didn't lose to much bark. Thanks for sharing this lovely image.
