Lieber Peter,
Anne
Hi, dear Peter.
What a nice and funny a bit story you have told and illustrated with wonderful shots. I have seen many your amazing butterfly pictures but now I am absolutely impressed with your landscape picture. First it reflects an amazing piece of Nature from superb POV. I have never visited mountains and only seen them from far distance. However, I like them so much. And your picture is brilliant in any photo art respect. As usual butterfly shot from nice collage are taken with excellent details and exposure (especially shot with beautiful flower). Many thanks for the post and my warm and best wishes and to you and your wife.
Alexei.
P.S. You also made me laugh. Your logic is blameless. The bucket was full of water. The fact is truth there are usually 3-4 buckets there. Fortunately, there was only one in the frame.

Hi Peter,
What a great collage showing these beautiful Ringlets and their natural habitat in the Alps.
The view is truly stunning,& not unlike some scenery not to far from here.
I think it is quite ok to have your wife in a shot such as this.
As you say,it does show the scale, and it wouldn't feel right to clone her out.
A lovely set of images.
Thanks for sharing them.
Steve
How very unusual that you and I use the same and also unusual technique today. I do not believe in coincidence and since ours were so close in compositional style...it must be of the Jungian Collective Conscious!
Bob
A superb trio in collage Peter, which shows the nice butterfly in great detail in both under- and above-wing details, together with the rough terrain of their habitat, all finely exposed and in perfect focus. TFS these fine images my friend.
Cheers,
Mehmet

Hi Peter!
Great post with real TN's spirit! Excellent note and very interesting subjects, even human :-) Landscape shot look gorgeus with distant panorama of peaks. I wish I were there... Both ringlets are also very well taken, deatiled and in interesting places with good composition. Superb post.

Susanne must be proud of your pics and mind it, it always helps to have a supporting wife who shares your passion and that will be 90% of battle won :-)
From the thumbnail i thought this was one of your signature shots with butterflies and mountains but was surprised to see a collage! An excellent presentation and notes too.

Hallo Peter
This is a very special image to me. For three reasons.
1. It is a beautiful 3 pictured collage, each frame a masterwork on its own. I have lots of respect for people who successfully photograph butterflies. Last week Friday our garden was filled with butterflies, and Loot told me it was the beginning of the new cycle for the butterflies after we’ve seen the beetles eating our plants, and I am sure laying eggs as well. Anyway what I actually wanted to say, after a long struggle I managed to capture 3 different species, whereas people like you make it seem so easily.
2. It is a lovely dedication to Anne, Dietrich and Markus, all members whom I learn to love and respect in the time I have been a part of Trek Nature.
3. This is the one that is the most important for me to say to you. Thank you for loving your wife so much. Your love and adoration for her comes across so strong in your notes, and I appreciate you for giving us a little background about Susanne. Thanks for sharing.
Best regards
Anna
Wonderful Montage. Great colors and wonderful view. I would love to climb with you and your wife. She sounds like an amazing woman!
Lieber Peter,
Dieter

Hello Peter !
What a nice presentation of this beautiful species, I love the line of black "eyes" on the wings. Nice to see the butterfly from two different POVs, and the landscape picture at the top is just breathtaking ! Very majestic mountains, huge sky, must have been such a great moment for you to stand there ! Thanks you for sharing this with us !
Valérie.
Lieber Peter!
As Grüessli
Markus
Dear Peter,
Very unique landscape, POV & composition with beautiful collase at the bottom. I like the horizon which is very much similar to the Great Himalayas we see here. TFS

Hello again Peter!
This is another great Lepidoptera presentation! I like the way you presented this species - with picture of habitat :)
A taxon is really interesting, especially that it is endemic and rarely observed.
Thank you for another entomological lesson!
All the best,
Radomir

Hello Peter,
Many thanks for dropping in on my last posting!! I expect and hope you've gathered some new lovely butterfly captures recently while out in the wild. Hopefully you'll soon have more time for TN again.
This is a remarkable capture from last summer.
I'd never expect that you could find butterflies at that height! Excellent presentation and a beautiful view of the mountains and the butterflies.
TFS and all the best wishes, Ulla
Hello Peter!
Wow - three super shots in one!
As for prostrating: I probably would just to catch my breath: this looks like quite a climb!
Cheers

Dear Peter, am I correct in remembering, that some yours ago, you were also involved in marketing? .!? Or do I have my knickers in a knot? :-)
The reason for asking you is the layout of your photo. I have two Swiss posters on the walls in my room about Zermatt and the Gornergrat, and both have the same feeling as your work. ( BTW The stroke affected my body but not my brain :-)) and I seem to remember that previously you taught also Marketing...
Be that as it may, the three layers. Foreground, the middle and the background are very different and at the same time complementing each other. The European alps are so different from any other part of the world. Specifically Africa, and this drew us every year to Switzerland for a month...
You have been able to combine all this into your image, and together with the extensive notes it is an absolute pleasure to view your work
.
I add your photo to my theme "High Altitude" thank you for sharing.
Warm Greetings from South Africa
Ingrid
