Coots fighting, the fights seems to happen when 2 couples meet, it's not clear if it's for a territory or one of the partner trying to prevent his partner to go with another one.

Hi Christophe!
Well executed scene of Action! Well chosen Aperture settings and good dept of field! I can feel the tension in the air!

George Veltchev

Nice shot. I made the same upon a time and it is soo hard..Black birds, with sparkly water, and even 1/800 not fast enough to freeze all the action

very well done, maybe lighten their eyes a bit to make the image more sparkling, they have such nice ruby colored eyes

Great picture of this fighting birds captured in a so interesting position.
Congratulations.
Best regards.Alin.

Hello Vanni

Hello Christophe

I notice this behaviour here with the American Coot.
I wonder if it is where the expression "as mad as a wet hen" comes from.LOL
Excellent timing.Very good sharpness of detail.
Nicely done.
TFS

Hello Christophe,

Perhaps not very clear but beautiful for look at.
You froze the water drops perfect, this is very important
Very well done, TFS.

Best regards,
John

Hi Christophe,

This is a great glimpse of the behaviour of Eurasian Coots. Good colours and action. Great water! I imagine that our American Coots behave similarly, but all I've ever seen is just a bunch of splashes. I've never been close enough to get a good photo. Your shot is not entirely clear, but that's understandable. I took similar shots of two male Red-winged Blackbirds fighting, but I never posted them because they weren't clear. I think that you're doing the right thing by letting us see the behaviour, even though the photo could be a bit better. TFS.

Regards,
John
