This bird was really my biggest surprised ever. Being my first time seeing and shooting it, it was really an exciting experience and an opportunity that seldom return. I took almost a year ago, and never see this bird again.
I was doing a bit of gardening at my small plot of orchard, I saw at the corner of my eyes a big bird flew past. I could not locate its perching place. Actually it was perching about 20m from me face to face. But the camera was about 10m away. I walked slowly to get the camera and I really prayed very hard so that the bird wont fly off. Upon returning , it was still there. I managed a few shots before it flew off.
Thanks got it satisfactorily, and here my friends the special bird for you.

The Green-billed Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus tristis) is a species of non-parasitic cuckoo found in peninsular India. The birds are waxy bluish black with a long graduated tail with white tips to the tail feathers. The bill is prominent and curved. These birds are found in dry scrub and thin forests.

This species has an extremely large range, and hence does not approach the thresholds for Vulnerable under the range size criterion (Extent of Occurrence 30% decline over ten years or three generations). The population size has not been quantified, but it is not believed to approach the thresholds for Vulnerable under the population size criterion (10% in ten years or three generations, or with a specified population structure). For these reasons the species is evaluated as Least Concern.

Hi Foozi,

The branch is helping to frame the bird. The point of view is showing thje details and colors of the Green-billed Malkoha, The good luminosity is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Salam Foozi.
It is never easy to get this bird out in the open, always sneaking out under the foliage. You have captured the moment well with nice perch and pleasing details.
Well done and have a very good Friday.
