[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here is a species of Orchid not often seen on Trek Nature.

Marsh Helleborine, Epipactis palustris

Swedish name: Kärrknipprot

This species of orchid is widespread in Europe and Central Asia in marshy areas rich in lime-rich marshy areas. In Sweden it is quite rare and it flowers in July. It can be as tall as about 40cm.

There is range of varieties from the pale-coloured as shown in the main image to reddish types as shown the WORKSHOP.

I had to accept getting my clothes wet to get low enough to take these pictures in the marshy ground. The dense vegetation makes it difficult to show the leaves.

After moderate cropping and size reduction the image was slightly sharpened and converted from RAW to JPEG.

Hej Ivan,

Beautiful Epipactis species! Both pix are lovely. The green background sotted by lighter patches is very nice indeed. Obviously your are taking advantage of your proximity to Öland.

All the best,

Getting your clothes wet to capture this image was worth it, Ivan.
The picture of this species of Orchids is well seen and well composed. The flowers have a lovely shape and the colours on them are subtle and subdued.
The dense foliage in the BG is suitably dealt with to make the flowers stand out.

Hello Ivan,
a lovely nice picture, presenting very artistically.
good sharpness and colour.
best wishes,

Hello Ivan.
You hard work in getting to share this image is appreciated. You have framed this orchid beautifully exposing the details of the petals. Interesting to see white patches in the background and and maybe there are more of this fine plant there.
Thanks and kind regards.

Hello Ivan,
This macro is a real beauty, just like the WS. Excellent sharpness and nice natural colours. The Orchid matches very beautiful with the blurry background.

Hello Ivan,
Very beautiful orchid, beautifully captured in a perfect and classical composition. Delicate colors for a very sensitive picture.
Tfs, Philippe.

Ciao Ivan, elegant composition with lovely flower, wonderful natural colors, excellent clarity and splendid light, very well done my friend, ciao Silvio

Hello Ivan

Between the 2 photos my preference goes to the
one on the WS because better density of the
color tones, and better contrast, both photos
fine POVs, excellent focus, sharpness, details, TFS
