Tieties Bay / Seascape

Lately there is a definite void on the Trek Nature gallery with regard to land and seascape photographs and that is such a pity. We had brilliant land and seascape photographers on the site and I really miss them and their spectacular images, as it always was a pleasure to view sceneries from the other side of the world.

I went through my archives to see if I have a seascape image that could perhaps pass as an attempt and came upon this one taken of the beach at Tieties Bay. It was taken while we were on vacation in the Cape Province in October 2011. Maybe, just maybe I can lure some of the older stalwarts back to the site if they catch a glimpse of this image.

There is not much information about this beach itself on the Internet and therefore you will have to take my word that it is indeed a remarkable place to be and to see. The rest of the information given is snippets taken from different websites only mentioning this beautiful place. Maybe it is a good thing that not so much publically is said about Tieties Bay, and for that reason it will stay unspoilt for some time longer.

Tieties Bay is a beautiful but dangerous little bay, named after a Coloured fisherman who had drowned here. It is a place of wild flowers, bracing air and rugged seascapes. There are limited ablution facilities, and only water, toilets and drinking water are available. The main activities are crayfishing, perlemoen (abalone) diving, line fishing and hiking.

It is a striking, unspoilt beach set in the popular Cape Columbine Nature Reserve 6km from Paternoster. It is the western-most beach on the Western Cape and is perfect for camping families. The last manually controlled and first lighthouse to be seen by ships coming from Europe can be found here.

I hope you enjoyed looking at this photo as much as I took pleasure in taking it.

what a dreamy spot ! .. did you ever relax in these waters Anna ? .. lucky you ;) :D .. hope the beach isn't as dangerous for swimmers as for fishers; .. great capture with fantastic colours and clarity .. TFS. hope you'll upload some species of "wild flowers" from there.

Bonjour Anna,

Hello Anna,

Hi Anna.
What a lovely place. Fine 3D presentation of it. I am amazed with details across the frame, vivid and clean colours of the shot. Colour palette of the image is really fantastic. Composition is also spot on. Landscape is my week point and your shot gives an excellent sample of this kind of photography.

Hello Anna,
A very eye catching seascape image filled with vivid colors and interesting shore features. The area reminds me somewhat of the shoreline Rosie and I encountered a few years ago near Rhode Island.

We are both lovers of any type of water whether it would be a stream, pond, marsh or the sea. There is something very refreshing about hearing the waves crashing against the shore and smealing the freashness of the air that draws us to areas such as this. Thank you for going back into your archives and finding this gem of a shot!!

Ciao Anna. The best managment of spaces. Bright colours good details in the interesting perspective. Bit noised.

Hello Anna,

You're capturing well this seascape by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the attractive bay with rocks, sands and clean/blue water. It seems to keep untouched nature. And, it harmonized beautifully with the pure blue sky.

Kind regards,

Hello Anna,
Beautiful scenery of this seascape.Beautiful colour of water and rocks.Pebbles are showing the details.Cotton like cloud flying on blue sky made it attractive ---seems a painting.Well captured.
Thanks for sharing,
Kind regards,

Hi Anna,

The distance between the beach and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the beach and of the rocks. The good luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.
