Vespa vetulina is colonizing my area (North of Spain) quickly.
Hunting bees very effectively. Hovering in front of a bee hive until it arrives. Catch the Bee, takes it to a twig where beheads him empty the abdomen and thorax is carried to the nest to feed the larvae.
Will have to see what it means for the ecosystem.

Hello Roberto,
What a great inflight image of this large Asian Wasp. Focus is tac sharp and colors are well saturated yet natural. Capturing any insect this sharp while inflight is very difficult, but you did it very nicely. Great shot!!
