|Pontia edusa Fabricius, 1777|
Common name: Eastern Bath white
Pontia edusa is a widespread butterfly in Greece and Italy, Turkey as well. It can develop 3-4 broods per year on plants belong mostly to families Brassicaceae and Resedaceae. The adults are feeding on nectar of several flowering plants.

nicely clear and well detailed close-up of Pontia edusa in a rather unusual looking combination of colours - the nicely soft distant background probably being the colour of dry - or very colourful - vegetation.
Composition might further profit from a decent bit of cropping at the left (in my opinion).

Hi Nikos,maybe a decentralized position could be better,but i still like your choice,the quality of sharpness is very high and the color background is original and nice,perfect macro of this specie that i lost since some years in my fields.Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

A gorgeous butterfly captured against a lovely orangish BG which enhances it's beautiful wing markings. Focus is sharp and exposure is just right. I do agree that a little tighter crop on the left may be a better choice, but overall an eye catching image and very impressive.
