Graphosoma lineatum ssp italicum (Linnaeus 1758)
Heteroptera: Pentatomidae
Common name: Italian Striped-Bug, Minstrel Bug.
Graphosoma lineatum is a very common pentatomid of cretan fauna. Subspecies italicum has black legs while other ssp have red legs. Nymphs and adults are not considered serious pest of crops although its hosts do include commercially important crops, such as aniseed, carrots, sunflowers and parsley. Chemical control is not often required, since egg parasites usually provide natural control.. The pierce and suck sedds causing loss of weight and lower germination efficacy. |
