Since mammals seem to be popular today, I figured I would post this shot of a raccoon I took this spring.
I was up at Magee marsh photographing migratory birds when I spotted this cute little raccoon sitting in the crotch of a tree.
Raccoon are extremely plentiful here in Ohio and are therefore often hit on our highways. There are times when I see as many as a dozen lying dead on the road while on an all day trip. |

Hi Ron,great suprise in your gallery,a species that i never seen live in my life,so your post are very useful. Great capture in a very nice composition, the sharpness is fantastic despite the difficult location. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ron,
Not your best photo in my opinion, the grassblades are distracting compositional elements, and the whole pic seems oversharpened to me. In Ireland, where I live, I mostly see foxes hit on the roadside.
Kind regards, László
