New Year, New Species (2020)

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi Trekkers,
As always, I wish to start the new year with a species new to our website. This time I chose the Golden Bootleg Mushroom (Phaeolepiota aurea (Matt.) Konrad & Maubl.), what I found the 1st time in my life last September, in 2 different locations on the same day, in the beautiful temperate rainforest Glenshelane Woods - being exact at the edge of the woodland, as the fungus prefers somewhat disturbed habitats with high nytrogene concentration in the soil. It was my childhood dream to find this species. Workshop 1 shows the whole cluster from "location 1", while WS 2 shows an aged fruitbody with dark brown gills.
Photo: taken with flash, f/5.6, 1/60 sec. and ISO 250 in manual exposure mode, with manual white balance. PP: slight level adjustment, re-sharpening after re-sizing.
Thanks for looking. |

Hi Laszlo, new species to start in the best way the new year. A very interesting post another time, showing this mushroom in all the different moments of its life as i can in the 2 useful WS. For me the choice of the main pic is right, and the quality is always very professional. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Laszlo,
Congratulations on a New Species of mushroom. The vertical framing works out nicely in this instance. Outstanding detail and great use of fill flash resulted in a remarkable image for all to enjoy viewing! Both WS images are equally as impressive!!
Hello Laszlo,
🎊 Congratulation for new species my friend.
Well framed, no doubt. Well detailed shot. Like beautiful light too.
Keep shooting 🙂,
Regards,
Srikumar
