Insects in flight-18 :

This Southern small White (Artogeia mannii, Karstweissling. Pieridae) is breaking its descent by flapping both pairs of wings vigorously down. The remaining impetus at the flower is absorbed by the stretched-out legs. The abdomen serves as a balancer and is important for steering during flight.

Technicals: 1/3'200, f/5.6, ISO 500, focal length 400 mm eq. Manual focussing (the right focus is by chance), no flash, hand held.

And this is another chapter in photography, many had think about but here we see the practical. The height of excellence.

Hi Dietrich
Well captured in flight and beautifully sharp, helped by the very high shutter speed.
