Hi Otto

An incredible burst of colours from a truly magnificent flower species. I sure hope that someone would be able to assist you with the ID, because I would also love to know what it is.

I just love your composition and the low POV (although you probably had no choice other then to get down to grass-roots-level to take this shot of the "diminutive" flower). I do not really want to spoil the fun since it is such a unique little flower, but unfortunately the details are a little soft. The DOF becomes very critical with macro work and at aperture f/3.2 there just was not enough depth to cover the full range of the flower. Certain areas shows brilliant focus yet other areas are rather soft. Since you were already pushing the shutter speed at 1/60 seconds it obviously becomes a bit of a tricky story to stabilise a hand held camera. So, if you had to improve on the aperture (say ±f/5.6+) the shutter speed would become uncontrollably slow and it would necessitate a tripod or some other means to steady the camera. Being so low down to the ground you probably would have had to improvise by making use of some other prop like a rock or a camera bag or whatever to try and stabilise the shot. The colours are splendid though, the BG is well isolated and OOF, and the exposure/lighting was well controlled.

This plant has attractive colours with some resemblance to lupins, but it is not since you say it is so small..!
Beautiful colours indeed, and the macro work is well done with sharp fine details in the petals...

This colours are realy beautiful and we can also see little flowers more closely, what is usualy impossible with our own eyes.
