|Should we show Birds on their nest?|
A big question for nature photographers. As so often the answer is not straightaway. My personal opinion is that we should not disturb birds at their nest BUT there are many occasions to take great pictures without disturbing at all. But at least we should explain why, for the shown picture there was no risk.
This picture was taken from the car at a colony of Black-winged Stilts within the village of les Saintes-Maries in Camargue. It is situated on a small pond between two hotels and this picture was taken from the parking entrance of the hotel. The birds are not afraid at all from people or cars and the main problem sometimes was that the Stilts approached too close an focussing was no more possible.
In this picture we see the male taking over the breeding, the female just left the nest.

Very beautiful photo of this Black-winged Stilt on her nest. Good low POV, sharpness and colours. Excellent composition. Beautiful natural environment.
Nice shot, was it in the camargue?
I found that from a car, the birds usually don't get bothered too much though depending on the weather, I usually leave fast, if I see a nest that could be disturbed
if we do not disturb them my opinion is yes we can

This Stilt species is common here, but I have never seen its eggs, however I have seen roosting among marshes, for possibly nesting, in many times. you greatly captured it with great timing and focus. POV and composition also great as like colors and exposure. thanks for sharing, best wishes and have a good night friend
