Mountain gorilla

Critically Endangered (IUCN 3.1)[2]

The mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei) is one of the two subspecies of the eastern gorilla. There are two populations. One is found in the Virunga volcanic mountains of Central Africa, within three National Parks: Mgahinga, in south-west Uganda; Volcanoes, in north-west Rwanda; and Virunga in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The other is found in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Some primatologists say[3] that the Bwindi population in Uganda may be a separate subspecies, though no description has been finished. As of November 2012, the estimated total number of mountain gorillas is 880

Hello Tom,
This one is a very good portrait of the Mountain Gorilla. Nice natural colors and excellent focus as usual. Perfect composition taken from a excellent POV with lovely light and best clarity. Useful photographers note.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Tom

Here the capture of the expression of the eyes is excellent,
but being a tight framing, I don't know i would prefer an all
in focus photo (and not only the eyes), but looking your exifs
ISO1600 and 1/60s I can see the photo was shot in a difficult
light conditions, TFS

Hello Tom,

Very impressive close up and personal portrait of the gorilla. I feel like being transfer into the "Planet of the Apes" The intense look of the eyes are really engaging with so much details and Love the tiny reflection in them.

Must be a really amazing experience to see it in the wild.
