[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thank you very much for your comments on my previous post, which was shot in a botanic garden. Here comes something from the real wild.

Spurge (Euphorbia) is an huge genera of flowering plants, with ca. 1700 species. Beside annual species it also contains stem succulents, which are often confused with cacti. Hungarian name of the genus is "dogmilk", due to the white, bitter and toxic, milk-alike latex of each species in the genera - hence the title.

Canary Island Spurge (Euphorbia canariensis L.) is native to the Canaries (except for the island Lanzarote), and is often misidentified as a cactus, although the shape and life strategy are just an example of the convergent evolution. On the workshop photo you can see a full cluster of E. canariensis. The species is widespread and common in Gran Canaria.

Indeed it looks like a cactus but as I read your comments I understand that it is some other specie....
The colors and details are excellent and the explanation useful.
