The Eurasian coot
Fulica atra
La foulque macroule.

The coot is entirely charcoal grey apart from the white bill and facial shield. It breeds on the edges of lakes, ponds and rivers. It occurs and breeds in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa. The Coot is an omnivore, and will take a variety of small live prey including the eggs of other water birds, as well as algae, vegetation, seeds and fruit.

The parents were busy feeding the chicks with all kind of leaves and bugs.
PP work: horizontal flip + level.
(Note: the vertical is right. The ground was very sloping)

Hello JeanMarie,
The photo has a good optical management, and the light, details and focus are quite accurate. I think the composition may be questionable ... But who cares about this? ;-) ... this must be the most eloquent and tender picture today in TN! Congratulations! good job! Thanks for sharing!!! Jesús
