Hello,

In the past few days I was quite busy (beside my civil work) with the homepage and other works of our fungi club, so I'm glad I have a short break from everything today.

I'd like to show You a common (at least in Europe) mushroom species, which didn't feature on TrekNature before. Lactarius quietus, the oak milkcap is very common in the oak forests of Hungary. Lactarius is a huge genus with hundreds of species, which all have milk hyphas in their fruitbodies, so each species give off milk-alike juice after breaking or cutting most of all the gills. Taxonomic position of Lactarius quietus (Fr.) Fr. within the genera: Russularia subgenus, Russularia section. Not edible.

The concentric zones on the cap aren't too common marks of this species, so on workshop1 you can see a more typical specimen, while on ws2 please check out the milk color: white / cream white, no color change on the air.

Photo: I found this little family with two ultra-small specimens on a trip in my vacation, near Alsóörs village, in the mountains called Balaton Highlands. 1/6 seconds with f/8, out of hand. PP: levels, moderate cropping, noise reduction, selective sharpening, framing, signing, re-sizing.

Hi Wladyslaw,
This species is very common our forests and is edible but we don't gathering them. Very similar is Lactarius deliciosus which is very very tasty. I found a few days ago first but even took his photo.
Yours photo like me in natural place. This species can recognise by its underside.

What a cute pair of mushrooms you have pictured. Both mushrooms next each to other are looked nicely. As usual reproduction of all featured of the subject is great and natural and very cute surroundings are represented nicely too. My compliments and TFS.

very special capture of the family. The little one is so exciting to note under the canopy of its mother. The colours are well contrasted and the top view is exciting. You have shown the surrounding of mossses very well.
Very nice capture of the fungi in its environment.

Wonderful title you have here and well depicted with fabulous capture of the duo. The contrasting sizes are well spotted with image that is sharp and well exposed details.
