Spent 2 hours early in the morning, on a beach in Goa... trying to capture a crab. That seemed to be the easier part. The tougher part was getting close to one.
These crabs seem to have either a very sharp eye sight or a very sharp sense for capturing any movement on the ground, cause as soon as you try approaching them, they vanish almost instantly, even when you are at a distance of almost 20 feets. and yes they come in all sizes.
This one was one complacent animal that I found towards the end of my effort. When I initially saw it, I took a shot from a distance before I lost him like all the others I already had that morning. However this one didn't move and i kept on inching towards him very slowly and capturing with every step, knowing that i moghht loose it any moment. This one just didn't budge, even when I was approximately 3 feet away from him on my knees. All that it did for the last shot was, pose in an "attack mode" position.
