Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle- This is a distinctive large orange/black beetle found on Milkweed. They are found in every state east of the Rockies.
Whats interesting about them is they are part of a complex of bugs living on Milkweed with the same coloring-the Monarch butterfly,Red Milkweed Beetle, Milkweed Bugs and an Assasin Bug. All trying to mimic each other with their toxic colors. This was taken in the Virginia State Arboretum.

Hello Janice,

Using PSE:
1. rotated the shot 3 degrees right (that made a better compositional angle coming from the right corner)
2. cropped shot
3. removed a little noise with blur tool

Hope you like it.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
