This is a Western Spectre - Boyeria irene dragonnfly, which I already posted HERE.

This dragonfly can only be found in southern europe, and north of africa, and its habits are quite strange:

They are usually resting in the shadow, and I use to find it up side down, hanging from rock shelters of branches. (this photo is rotated 180).

They prefer places where temperature is moderate in summer, they avoid high temperatures.

They are more active in the late evening, and not only hunt in the air, but can also be seen looking for insects in the holes of the walls.

It has a very strange way of flying, they fly low and move slowly in a very elegant way.

I also notice that the eye cells are very small compared to other dragonflies, even smaller than the damselflies I have captured. You can have a clores look in this WORKSHOP
