On my Valais excursions:

when I was with Anne (anel) and Peter (batu) on the Moosalp I wondered why the two showed me this marvelous butterfly without trying to get a shot at it themselves. But I discovered later that both had mounted already excellent pictures of this species on TN. So my turn now: it is the Alpine heath (Lepidoptera; Satyridae; Coenonympha gardetta De Prunner 1798; Alpen- Wiesenv÷gelchen; le Satyrion) sitting on Juniperus communis.

The species occurs at higher altitudes in the Massiv central (France), the Alps , Crna Gora and BjeshkŰt e Namuna (Albania).

In the workshop area I include an improved version (alleviating the effect of the flash). Judge for yourself.

Brightening up the dark parts in PS alleviates the effect of the flash.
