I am not sure about ID of this complexly patterned dark colored butterfly but it looks like Blue Admiral that is common in Malaysia. I took this shot while it was sitting on red hibiscus flowers.

Despite a good focus i wasn't able to get the desired details. It had a bit tattered wings, some faded shades of rust, dark brown, black and white on its feathers. The red at the base created some reddish glow on underparts of this weird butterfly which was somewhat unavoidable. Hope some TN fellow will help me identify it. Thanks for your comments on my previous postings,

JUST WANNA SAY THAT I NEVER CONSIDER MYSELF AS AN EXPERT PHOTOGRAPHER. I AM ONLY A LEARNER WHO NEVER BOASTED OF ANYTHING GREAT. MY SHOTS HAVE A LOT OF FLAWS AND I ALWAYS TRY MY BEST TO IMPROVE. SOME PEOPLE HERE ARE TAKING MY COMMENTS/CRITIQUES TO THEIR HEARTS. MY APOLOGIES AND REQUEST AT THE SAME TIME THAT PLEASE DON'T FEEL NEGATIVE AND LET "TN" BE A HEALTHY FORUM.

IN MY CURRENT SHOT I JUST WANNA SHOW THIS WEIRD BUT LOVELY BUTTERFLY WHICH I WASN'T ABLE TO CAPTURE PERFECTLY. I HOPE THAT IT WILL STILL BE A SOURCE OF HAPPINESS FOR A BUTTERFLY LOVER SOMEWHERE..FORGET THE QUALITY AS ONE OF MY FRIENDS HERE HAS MENTIONED :)

Best Regards,

AKBAR
