Workshop Note
I used a variation of the Contrast Masking technique to bring out a little more shadow detail on this shot.

Basically we'll do it twice, but with two different blur values to reduce the appearance of a halo, so:
NewLayerViaCopy, Desaturate, Invert. NewLayerViaCopy. Turn off the middle layer. Blur/Gaussian, merge mode Overlay @ 65% on the top layer. Merge Visible. Now turn on the layer, and set merge Overlay @ 30%.
