Winter Landscape (16)

A nice, albeit slightly moody winter landscape in Manning Park. There was probably a good 5 feet of snow here at around the 1800 metre (6000 foot) level. The Brothers Mtn ridge to the east is in the background.
A grad filter was used to make the sky a bit darker and moodier.

Layers/Curves/Erase
Edited by:CaptiveLight Gold Star Critiquer/Gold Star Workshop Editor/Gold Note Writer [C: 435 W: 61 N: 232] (969)

Opened in Photoshop.

Duplicate layer made, working on bottom layer, open "curves" window, drag up mid point to brighten the grey snow area. When area is bright enough, saturation taken down by some 50% as there was a blue tone reflection off the sky.

Select top layer, and using a soft edged eraser brush at 40% opacity foreground area of grey snow erased to show the layer underneath.

Little bit of top layer erased across distant mountains at 25% opacity

2 Layers flattened into one and saved ...

Time... about 2 minutes.
